Jaye Stuart

Coach & Program Director

Jaye Stuart is a co-program director of the Berkshire Field Hockey Association.

Jaye has dedicated more than four decades to coaching field hockey in Connecticut. Prior to her tenure at Shepaug Valley School, she served as the head field hockey coach at Litchfield High School from 1980–1993, where she guided the program to a state championship and established a tradition of excellence.

Jaye was the longtime field hockey coach at Shepaug Valley School in Washington, CT, from 1994–2019. During her tenure at Shepaug, she compiled an outstanding career record of 302-120-3-2, led the Spartans to back-to-back state titles in 2001 and 2002, and captured four Berkshire League championships.

Jaye was also the owner of the Connecticut Revolution club, which operated from 2011–2016. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the sport, she was inducted into the Connecticut Field Hockey Hall of Fame in 2017.

She has been a staple in providing field hockey opportunities for young women in Washington, continuing the legacy that Joan Gauthey established during her tenure at Shepaug.

Jaye has international hockey experience and brings a wealth of knowledge to the technical and tactical development of players. She remains actively involved at Shepaug as the middle school field hockey coach, where she continues to mentor and inspire the next generation of athletes.

Owen Moore

Owner & Program Director

Owen Moore is the founder and program director for the Berkshire Field Hockey Association.

Owen is the current assistant field hockey coach at the University of Hartford. He helped lead the Hawks during their inaugural season in the fall of 2025. He also coaches club hockey with Hartford Havoc, based out of West Hartford, CT.

Prior to Hartford, Owen was the varsity coach at Shepaug Valley High School, where he led the Spartans to back-to-back Berkshire League titles in 2023 and 2024, along with a Class S state championship in 2024. The Spartans also went on to win the inaugural Berkshire League Field Hockey Tournament in 2024. Owen was also the junior varsity coach in 2022 and volunteered with the middle school program in the fall of 2020. Owen graduated from Shepaug in 2020 and earned his bachelor’s in finance from WCSU in 2024.

Although Owen did not have the opportunity to play field hockey, he developed a strong passion for coaching the sport and working with athletes to reach their full potential. Owen is active in the field hockey community. He participates in numerous coaching education opportunities to expand his knowledge of how to teach the correct technical skills necessary for competing at a high level. He holds Level I and II certifications from USA Field Hockey.

After leaving Shepaug, Owen has remained committed to continuing to grow the game in Washington and throughout the Berkshire League to keep the long-standing lineage of field hockey in this area alive for many generations to come.

Katy Porkrywa

Coach

Coach Katy began her field hockey career in 7th grade at Shepaug Valley Middle School and quickly developed a passion for the game. She went on to have an outstanding high school career at Shepaug Valley High School, helping lead her team to the state finals during her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. In 2001, her class made school history by becoming the first Shepaug field hockey team to win a State Championship. Katy scored the game-winning goal against Granby in the championship game and finished the season leading her team in goals while earning Berkshire League All-Star honors.


Following high school, Coach Katy continued her field hockey career at Keene State College in New Hampshire where she was a standout forward. During her collegiate career, her team captured Little East Conference (LEC) Championships in her sophomore, junior, and senior years. She led her team in points during her junior and senior seasons and earned All-LEC Conference honors. She was also named to the All Academic Team.  


After graduating, Coach Katy transitioned into coaching, beginning with two years at Shepaug Valley Middle School before spending five years coaching at Shepaug Valley High School. She also coached for six years with the elite travel program Connecticut Revolution, where she traveled with her teams to numerous national tournaments across the United States.


Today, Coach Katy coaches with the Berkshire Association program, where she is passionate about growing the game of field hockey and helping young athletes develop their skills, confidence, and love for the sport throughout the surrounding community.

Clare Moore

Coach

Clare Moore is a current sophomore on the Springfield College field hockey team. She earned All-NEWMAC Second Team honors following her first year playing season. Clare and the Pride made a NEWMAC semifinal appearance.

Prior to her time at Springfield, Clare was a four-year varsity athlete at Shepaug Valley High School. She was a member of the field hockey, ice hockey, and softball teams. Clare was a two-time Berkshire League All-Star and two-time All-State selection in field hockey. She was a key contributor to the 2024 state championship team, earning the Class S Most Valuable Player award. Moore also received the prestigious Raymond Marinko Award, presented by the Berkshire League Athletic Directors in the spring of 2025.

Clare is a Berkshire Field Hockey alum and enjoys giving back to her community while she is home from Springfield for the summer.

Hannah Morse

Coach

Hannah Morse started playing field hockey in fourth grade during a summer camp that my friend, on a whim, convinced me to go to. She fell in love with it and played all through middle and high school and continued to play during my collegiate years. After she graduated Hannah coached with AIM field hockey for 2 years; this will be her third year coaching with Berkshire Mayhem. Hannah resides in Southbury with her husband Tommy and our 2 kids- Oliver and Aria. When she is not coaching field hockey she is in the classroom teaching!

Kerry McDevitt

Coach

Kerry was a Berkshire League All-star and All State field hockey player from Litchfield High School. For her outstanding dedication to her team and sportsmanship, Kerry was awarded the Robert “Julius” Balloran Award. Kerry played four years at Keene State College and captained the team her senior year. After graduating, Kerry continued playing field hockey as a member of adult leagues in CT and CA.

Kerry was a United States Peace Corps Volunteer. She taught high school aged students, assisted in facilitating the schools first girl’s netball team and coached the schools first boys soccer team. After the Peace Corp, Kerry graduated from American University with a master’s degree in international training and education.

Kerry has coached field hockey for several area schools, clubs, and summer camps. Kerry was the JV coach at Shepaug, Freshman coach at New Milford, and a member of the coaching staff for the Connecticut Revolution Field Hockey club team for U14, U16 and U19 aged players. During this time Kerry, alongside the coaches and players, accumulated a handful of gold and silver medals at the Nutmeg Games.

As a faculty member at The Sherman School, Kerry has made an impact on the athletic program. For five years she coached middle school girls soccer, helped establish and coached the school’s track and field program, as well as the young runners participating in the Kids Marathon Running club. For her contributions to the school both inside the classroom and out, Kerry was honored as the Sherman Teacher of the Year in 2017. In 2022, Kerry was nominated for the Frank McCourt Prize for Excellence in Teaching. Currently, Kerry teaches Kindergarten at The Sherman School.
